Outside-the-box thinkers have a way making everything a little bit better. From cooking to writing, or designing to building, it’s the ones that have the original thoughts that impress the most. And that’s what we’ve found with the designers behind the Biltmore plan. As a floor plan within Blackrock Homes’ Urban Series portfolio, the Biltmore packs in a lot of personality for a smaller footprint home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, at 1,780 sq. ft. The design team considered what spaces are essential to everyday living and set forth a floor plan that accomplishes a lot for a moderate price point. Here are a few of our favorite features of this design:
Entry: The entry or foyer, space is separated from the great room by an architectural header treatment to add interest and definition to each space respectively. There is enough wall space to add a print or two to create a personal and meaningful first impression upon entering the home. Two porthole windows allow natural light in the space and the Luxury Vinyl Planking flooring (LVP) provides connectivity to all the living spaces on the main level.
Tech Center: Who doesn’t need a home office these days? The Biltmore has a tech center with a large built-in desk and upper and lower cabinets to keep the workspace clear of clutter. The design team was able to carve out space for a closet, too, as extra space for office supplies and file organization.
Loft: The list is almost endless for how to put this space to work. Most commonly used as a second t.v. area, it also serves as a great hobby/craft area, game center or even home school activity center. The nearby oversized linen closet is ideal for putting everything away at the end of the day.
Storage: It’s always a pleasant surprise to find an extra linen closet, but when there are three all on the upper level, it’s truly an unexpected bonus. And that combined with the main level pantry and extra deep coat closet provide much needed space to live free of clutter.
